This role is to take a lead on researching and delivering new general methods in the area of modern

machine learning that can be applied to real data (primarily visual). There is significant scope for

leadership and expansion of a research team under the direction of the successful candidate.

We are especially interested in talking to researchers who are excited about seeing their work used

to make a difference in the real-world and who have a passion for solving key challenges in areas as

diverse as security, healthcare and sports analytics. At AnyVision you will have the chance to

combine the best of academic research with world-changing engineering. Our scientists have the

opportunity to publish in leading conferences, supervise doctoral-level research with our academic

partners, give masterclasses in our School of AI and lead significant teams across geographical areas

including London, New York, Belfast and Tel Aviv. We work with some of the biggest names in

computing technology and are thought-leaders in AI for the Real World.



Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

Candidates will have an excellent track record in leading research, and:

1. Hold a PhD in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering science or a related discipline

from an internationally-recognised academic institution.

2. Have published 1st Author papers in major (i.e. A/A*, Tier 1) conferences and journals e.g. at

CVPR, NIPS, ICML, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, IJCV.

3. Have a track record of leading fundamental research with a very strong and clear application

to developing new underpinning solutions in modern machine learning, not restricted to

machine vision problems.

4. A demonstrable ability to develop and lead a major research programme.

5. Minimum 3 years of significant post-doctoral experience.

6. Excellent communication skills, especially of technical concepts and ideas.


7. An ability to contribute to AnyVision educational and technical training programmes


Desirable skills:

1. Mastery of Machine learning frameworks (at least one of PyTorch, Caffe, Tensorflow, Scikit-

Learn)

2. Excellent programming skills in Python and/or, C++

3. Familiarity with Git and the ability to deliver documented research and internal technical

reports including benchmark results.

4. Track record of solving large scale machine learning problems by leading a team.

5. PhD in machine learning, computer vision or a related field.

6. Good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to communicate research and

evangelize our work at the highest levels both internally and externally.

7. Strong mathematical and statistical background.

8. Show understanding of problem from data through to deployment targets and steer projects

likewise.

9. Ability to work with multiple teams e.g. data, product and engineering to guide a project from

concept to deployment.

10. Self-motivated and hardworking attitude.

11. Takes initiative
