About The Position


AnyVision Research UK is a world leading team of scientists and engineers that creates AI for the

fields of Face recognition, Object recognition, Object detection, and Visual Target Tracking. As we

This role is to research and deliver new, cutting edge methods in the area of modern computer vision

that can be deployed at multiple computational scales from cloud to low powered edge devices.

We are especially interested in talking to researchers who are excited about seeing their work used

to make a difference in the real-world and who have a passion for solving key challenges in areas as

diverse as security, healthcare and sports analytics. At AnyVision you will have the chance to

opportunity to publish in leading conferences, supervise doctoral-level research with our academic

partners, give masterclasses in our School of AI and lead significant teams across geographical areas

Essential skills and experience:

Candidates will have an excellent track record in leading research, and:

1. Hold a PhD in engineering science, computer vision or a related discipline from an

internationally-recognised academic institution.

2. Have published 1st Author papers in major (i.e. A/A*, Tier 1) computer science conferences

and journals e.g. at CVPR, NIPS, ICML, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, IJCV.

3. Having a track record of leading industrial research with a very strong and clear application to

important problems in Computer Vision.

4. A demonstrable ability to develop and lead a major research programme in object detection

and recognition.

5. Minimum 3 years of significant post-doctoral experience.

6. Excellent communication skills, especially of technical concepts and ideas.

7. An ability to contribute to AnyVision educational and technical training programmes

Desirable skills:

1. Mastery of Machine learning frameworks (at least one of PyTorch, Caffe, Tensorflow, Scikit-


2. Excellent programming skills in Python and/or, C++

3. Familiarity with Git and the ability to deliver documented research and internal technical

reports including benchmark results.

4. Track record of solving large scale machine learning problems by leading a team.

5. PhD in machine learning, computer vision or a related field.

6. Good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to communicate research and

evangelize our work at the highest levels both internally and externally.

7. Strong mathematical and statistical background.

8. Show understanding of problem from data through to deployment targets and steer projects


9. Ability to work with multiple teams like Data, product and engineering to guide a project from

concept to deployment.

10. Self-motivated and hardworking attitude.
