About this job

• Your task is to develop prototype systems which use the outputs of research into machine-

learned methods for remote clinical diagnosis.

• Your principal responsibility is to engineer existing algorithms into useful systems.

• You will travel frequently and regularly to a leading international medical centre to develop the

use cases and corresponding automated techniques.

• To develop test environments and methodologies.

• To work with end users and clinicians to capture knowledge to inform the research direction.

• You will work in a development and software engineering team in close collaboration with a

dedicated medical vision researcher to deliver a prototype system for clinical trial.

Essential skills and experience:

Candidates will have an excellent track record in leading research, and:

1. Have a track record of developing solutions using work in the areas of Deep Learning,

Machine Learning, and Computer Vision.

2. Minimum 3 years of relevant responsible experience (reduced to 1 year if has shown

excellence in other areas).

3. Recent experience in one or more of the following areas: Face detection, face recognition,

object detection and classification, medical computer vision.

4. Excellent programming skills in Python or C++.

5. A demonstrable track record in applied systems engineering or algorithm development.

6. An ability to travel and enthusiasm to collaborate with international partners is essential.

Desirable skills:

1. A Master degree in engineering, computer vision or a related field from an internationally-

recognised academic institution.

2. An awareness of common machine learning software frameworks (at least one of PyTorch,

Caffe, Tensorflow, Scikit-Learn).

3. Familiarity with Git and the ability to deliver documented research and internal technical

reports including benchmark results.

4. Track record of developing and delivering large scale solutions with a team

5. Very good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to communicate research

and evangelize our work at the highest levels both internally and externally.

6. Competent mathematical and statistical background.

7. Show understanding of problem from data through to deployment targets and steer projects


8. Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.

9. Self-motivated and hardworking attitude.

10. Takes initiative.


Salary is negotiable and highly competitive. Additional benefits include: flexible working, including
