About The Position

This role is to research and deliver new, cutting edge methods in the area of modern computer vision that can be deployed at multiple computational scales from cloud to low powered edge devices.

We are especially interested in talking to researchers who are excited about seeing their work used to make a difference in the real-world and who have a passion for solving key challenges in areas as diverse as security, healthcare and sports analytics. Requirements

Essential:-

The candidate is expected to have an excellent track record in conducting and leading research including but not limited to:

  1. A PhD in engineering science, computer vision or a related discipline from an internationally-recognised academic institution.
  2. Have published 1st Author papers in major (i.e. A/A*, Tier 1) computer science conferences and journals e.g. at CVPR, NIPS, ICML, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, IJCV.
  3. Having a track record of leading industrial research with a very strong and clear application to unconstrained face recognition. We are not interested in candidates whose only interest or experience is explicitly in landmark-based or HCI-style facial analysis.
  4. A demonstrable ability to develop and lead a major research programme in face recognition.
  5. Minimum 3 years of significant post-doctoral experience.
  6. Excellent communication skills, especially of technical concepts and ideas.
  7. An ability to contribute to AnyVision educational and technical training programmes

The candidate is expected to be a leader in their field and is expected to attract talent to form teams around them. Moreover, it is expected that the candidate will be able to lead and direct a significant research programme in the topic of face recognition.

Desirable:-

  1. Mastery of Machine learning frameworks (at least one of PyTorch, Caffe, Tensorflow, Scikit-Learn)
  2. Excellent programming skills in Python and/or, C++
  3. Familiarity with Git and the ability to deliver documented research and internal technical reports including benchmark results.
  4. Track record of solving large scale machine learning problems by leading a team.
  5. PhD in machine learning, computer vision or a related field.
  6. Good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to communicate research and evangelize our work at the highest levels both internally and externally.
  7. Strong mathematical and statistical background.
  8. Show understanding of problem from data through to deployment targets and steer projects likewise.
  9. Ability to work with multiple teams like Data, product and engineering to guide a project from concept to deployment.
  10. Self-motivated and hardworking attitude.
  11. Takes initiative

Location:

Salary range:

75,000 - 80,000 GBP annually
